Pilates at Oscailt

Pilates is one of the most thorough forms of exercise in the world. It dramatically improves posture, flexibility, balance, coordination and strength through slow, controlled movements and proper breathing.

Pilates is Mind-Body Exercise

Focusing the mind to perform the exercises correctly requires maximal concentration! Due to the mind-body link, progress is rapid and great results are felt and seen quickly both during the sessions and transferring into daily life.

The Benefits of Regular Pilates Training

Regular Pilates training creates a long, lean body; with toned, flat abdominals, ripped thighs and bum, and a strong back.

In 10 sessions, you will feel the difference. In twenty, you will see the difference. And in thirty, you’ll be on your way to having a whole new body.

Pilates Physiotherapy

Aisling Heavey

Pilates is a wonderful form of exercise that can be adapted to suit anyone. As a physiotherapist, I have found Pilates to be extremely useful in rehabilitation, and in helping those with long term conditions or in persistent pain. My Pilates classes will be focusing on building your strength and flexibility through low impact movements, and a mixture of poses. I can adapt the exercises to suit people who would like to take their practice further and make it more challenging also.

Currently I work as a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice. I have vast experience in this area, and I have a special interest in persistent pain and conditions such as hypermobility spectrum disorders and hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I run classes specifically for these populations, as well as general beginners and mixed level classes. I also have an online membership for those who prefer to exercise in their own home.

I became an accredited Pilates teacher with the APPI in 2020, and I have completed extra Pilates teacher training in Pilates for hypermobility, Pilates for osteoporosis and Pilates for runners.
