Welcome to Oscailt
We provide a wide range of holistic courses, workshops and services with an emphasis on Mindfulness. Our Mindfulness programme includes in situ classes and workshops as well as private lessons for individuals. We also work externally offering a variety of mindfulness classes for numerous corporate clients, schools and organisations.
Health and well-being are more than the absence of illness. Our mission at Oscailt, (which means opening in Gaelic), is to create a space in the community that helps people open up to their innate capacity to enhance, maintain and restore their health and well-being. When mind and body are in harmony, there is the capacity for our natural energy, vitality and creativity to manifest, allowing us to embrace life with greater engagement, spontaneity and aliveness. At the heart of Dublin City, we aim to create an oasis, a centre that supports a wide range of clients in enhancing their lives and supporting a healthy, sustainable work-life balance. I have been enjoying treatments, exercise classes, drop-in meditation classes and fascinating courses in Oscailt for many years. There is always something interesting going on there. I recently did the Mindful Self-Compassion course which was a real experience! It had an interesting mix of Western psychology and mindfulness which was explained in a simple, straightforward way. I learnt things about myself and learnt how life can be easier and more fun. Thank you Oscailt for another great course.
I completed the Mindful Self-Compassion Course at Oscailt around 6 months ago. I have to say the course was excellent and delivered benefits far beyond my expectations. By exploring a side of self-compassion that otherwise I never would have discovered, I found the course helped me to adjust my perspective on life for the better and see a new side to myself. 6 months on and I’m continuing to develop my understanding and practice of self-compassion and enjoying the positive benefits for myself and those around me that have materialised as a consequence.
I’ve just completed the 8-week Meditation for Self Compassion course with Mary O’Callaghan and found it both personally challenging – in a good way! – and ultimately very rewarding. I looked forward to every Monday night session during the 8-week run, the meditations, personal revelations and group discussions. I cannot recommend Mary and this course enough, she has created a sanctuary in Oscailt and we’re all better for it.
I’ve attended a number of courses and individual events at Oscailt. I’ve recommended the centre to many friends and colleagues thinking that they might benefit from the courses. In nearly every case they have then gone on to recommend the centre to others. It’s a special place, with special people.
